The study analysed the administrative and biophysical conditions of the County, as well as the state of the mariculture sector and projection of its needs. Based on the aforementioned, the possibilities for further development of the sector were proposed. A multi-criteria spatial analysis of the site suitability for the potential mariculture breeding areas was made within the geoinformation raster system. The goal of the conducted spatial analysis was to enable the sustainable development of the mariculture sector in the Šibenik-Knin County, which reconciles development interests with environmental and nature protection. The study was conducted through a participatory process during which stakeholder participation was actively encouraged, and two workshops with key stakeholders were held. The final results included proposals of the goals, priorities, developmental/organizational measures and projects in the mariculture sector, as well as guidelines for the Amendments to the County Spatial Plan, related to the development of the mariculture sector.
